Monkey Love

Monkey's come in various breeds with their own attributes. which monkey you invest in depends on what you are looking to get out of them. I recently learned that spider monkey's are clingy, so if you want the "baby" replacement that would be a choice.  Capuchin's like to problem solve and I think are most simular to human's in though process and social skills.    It is my opinion that I could not handle having a companion monkey for my Chance, I am busy enough without having to chase after and change diapers for two monkeys.  I recently had a friend comment that monkey's in pairs tend to gang up you, and it IS difficult to give each adequate time and attendion.  I have gone back and forth as to the  practicality of having another monkey and the pro's and con's of mixing breeds.    HOW DOES THAT WORK OUT??

Chance, is my only.   He goes with me EVERY WHERE.  planning my schedule has to take into account how hot or cold it is out side, when I run errands, IF I take him with me, wether i leave the car running or not.  and that is another thing travel in the car.   Chance I prefer ride in a cage for his safety and mine.  now he knows it is part of our routine, "in your car seat" before the car can go.

Chance I got at age 6 months, I was his second home.  Most of my learning has been on the fly with him.  I try to keep him mentally stimulated by letting him fix and take apart things that are safe for him.

I am loving the networking now available on facebook!!  Monk parents are coming out of the wood work, with real and practical knowledge, unlike most info on the web.
