Chance has a way of connecting with people who tend to isolate themselves, he connects with those who are depressed. He is a treat they look forward too.
It is hoped that the recent incident will not prohibit Chance to continue with his informal training. Boston Helping Hands, doesn't accept Capuchin's until they are 6 years old, which I can see due to their attention span at this young age. Chance can do zippers, key into a lock, clips, hooks, putting lids on and off containers, and turning off the water during diaper change, helping to wash is soiled clothes at the office. So feeling that everything is in the past..... Animal Control Office Novotny returned to the office on June 3rd (that date has bad history in GI) to let me know of a fairly new statue that the City adopted December 2008 - which is to treat all animal bites that require medical attention in the same fashion. which is to have the animal declared a DANGEROUS ANIMAL with consequences of being immediately put down - - - - talk about stress level going thru the roof. She advised and strongly recommended that I appeal the declaration in writing with in 72 hours and a hearing will follow in 10 days. W H A T ! ! ! ! where is this coming from????? Chance is the most loving creature ever, he is a member of the family for peetsake. He eats supper with us, he goes EVERY WHERE with us.... what do you mean some one is going to take him from me and but him to sleep.
SO after regaining my composure, I let our friends and family know what was going on.... immediately the residents in Central City put pen to paper and wrote letters in support of Chance!! I got about 20 letters across my fax machine from them. brought tears to my eyes reading thru them. I was so touch to see the impact Chance has had with them. I started writing my appeal letter the next day, making copies of pictures, new paper clippings, his newly recieved certificates, medical records.......
